This site is designed to provide job searching resources to University of Maryland students. Because this site was designed by MLS students it does have a bend towards library science job searching. However, the goal was to make the site useful to a variety of UMD students. We felt the need to narrow our scope to UMD students because there are so many resources for preparing and carrying out a job search.

We’ve broken up the site into the different stages of an actual job search.
Step 1: Familiarize yourself with the job market and your field of interest
Step 2: Build your resume and write cover letters
Step 3a: Search for Jobs - General
Step 3b: Search for Jobs - Specific

Finally, we have a section on emotional issues that arise in the job search and how to cope with them.

It should be noted that this is by no means a comprehensive list. It is a list of sites that we found to be very useful and in many cases comprehensive.
